Angkas’ Angeline Tham and George Royeca Join the Endeavor Network

Endeavor selected the Philippines’ Angeline Tham and George Royeca of Angkas at the 97th International Selection Panel (ISP) in Rome held October 23-25, 2023. The panel included Martín Escobari (General Atlantic and Endeavor Global Board Member), António Murta (Pathena and Endeavor Portugal Board Member), Steven Mail (Mail Venture Partners), Jose Jair Bonilla (Chiper and Endeavor Entrepreneur), Sabina Gyosheva (BY FAR and Endeavor Entrepreneur), and Ayman Ismail (AI Investment Capital Group).

Angkas was co-founded by the husband-and-wife duo of George Royeca and Angeline Tham. George is from the Philippines, and he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in politics, philosophy, and economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific. His professional background is in marketing and business development. He previously worked as Chief Investment Officer for Solar Entertainment, one of the largest content providers and channel operators in Southeast Asia. George is also a successful entrepreneur, having previously founded Group of Five Creative Concepts, an award-winning content company that has garnered local and international awards. Angeline is no stranger to the world of entrepreneurship either. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from NYU’s Stern School of Business, Angeline spent five-years working in banking before founding Sold.sg, one of Singapore’s leading online auction companies. She successfully exited the company in 2013 and briefly joined a Softbank-affiliated fund, which focused on investments in Southeast Asia. In 2015, she left her home country of Singapore to join Grab in the Philippines, where she oversaw the launch of GrabBike for motorcycle taxis and GrabExpress for motorcycle deliveries in the country.

The ISP is the culmination of a rigorous multi-step selection process to identify high-impact entrepreneurs who demonstrate the potential to leverage Endeavor’s resources and mentorship to create large-scale wealth and jobs, and are committed to reinvesting their time and money in their local entrepreneurship ecosystems to help others take off.

As part of Endeavor’s network, the newly selected entrepreneurs will gain access to comprehensive, strategic, global support services, including introductions to local and international business mentors, investors, and volunteers from Fortune 500 consulting firms who will help them address key needs.
