Lhoopa’s Marc-Olivier Caillot & Sabrina Tan Join the Endeavor Network
Endeavor selected the Philippines’ Marc-Olivier Caillot & Sabrina Tan of Lhoopa at the 96th International Selection Panel (ISP) in Bali, Indonesia held July 17-19, 2023. The panel included Dave Salvant (SQUIRE Technologies and Endeavor Entrepreneur), Diego Piacentini (Endeavor Global Ambassador and Endeavor Italy Board Member), John Hamm (Technology CEO, Venture Investor, Board Director & Advisor), Maureen Haverty (Seraphim Space), Scott Sobel (Valor Capital Group and Endeavor Global Ambassador), and Tiger Fang (Kargo and Endeavor Entrepreneur).
Lhoopa is the latest venture of Marc-Olivier (Marco) Caillot and Sabrina Tan. Born into a working-class family in France, Marco always had the desire to contribute to the empowerment and recognition of everyday workers. He was the first in his family to graduate high school, and went on to earn two master’s degrees, one in management from Emlyon Business School and one in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from ISIMA France. He then built his career in the corporate world, most notably working at Rosenblatt Securities in New York and Accenture in Paris, where he focused on developing mathematical models and technological assets for stocks trading and investment banking. Having seen the technology gap in the companies he worked for, he co-founded (together with Sabrina) Forward Solutions, a boutique I.T. firm that served over 200 clients globally, including some of the largest organizations in the Philippines such as Meralco, Aboitiz, Globe, and the United Nations. Sabrina, on the other hand, embarked on her own journey before co-founding Lhoopa. After graduating from Ateneo de Manila University, she moved to New York where she earned a master’s degree in education and a Ph.D. in School Psychology at Fordham University. It was around this time that she met Marco and they got married. When they both moved to the Philippines in 2011, she started her own private practice, providing psychological services. From there, she realized that she can tap into her people expertise in avenues beyond psychology, which led her to co-founding Forward Solutions and later Lhoopa with Marco.
In 2015, while Marco was consulting for one of the largest real estate developers in the Philippines, he developed an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that automated and optimized real estate business operations. His work there yielded a significant increase in the revenue of the company. It was through this experience that Marco and Sabrina identified the huge potential for disruption within the real-estate industry. They discovered that the traditional real estate development industry is extremely manual which has a significant impact on cost-efficiency and the bottom line, making it difficult to offer affordable housing at scale. Equipped with their combined expertise in I.T., stocks trading, and people, the team decided to tackle the problem of affordable housing, thus founding Lhoopa in 2017.
